Mark Wilcox created The BBQ Doctors in 2006 to offer the people of the bay area an affordable way to keep grilling safely on their existing bbq with out having to replace it. It seems pretty easy to purchase a new grill or bbq island,but in a few years, finding an experienced technician to come out to repair the malfunctioning unit seemed impossible. Most manufacturers would only do warranty repairs and the retailers would rather sell you a new one. It took a unique resume to find the right man for the job. For example,

8 yrs -various restaurants as broiler cook and chef assistants

Graduate of Heating and Refrigeration tech school-EPA certified

2 yrs - Gas furnace inspection and repair-PG&E, IBEW 1245

4 yrs - Residential A/C and heating systems, service and installation

4 yrs. - Servicing commercial restaurant equipment and gas pizza ovens

2 yrs. - Route manager for Ecolab, providing and servicing warewashing machines and chemical
           sales to the restaurant industry, consulting with them to maintain health department codes & standards.

4 yrs. - BBQ's Galore, service, sales, and management including technical training from grill manufacturers.

Once Mark Wilcox had his business of the ground, he partnered with a friend who had no job to help with the volume of customers he was receiving. Imagine Mark's surprise when his employee promoted himself from prep nurse to a doctor overnight and started to phase him out of my own company and take more than his fair share of income. Rather than continuing to leave liabilities out there from a "gas serviceman" with no gas service experience or certification, Mark quickly dissolved the partnership. Mark kept the name and website, but it truly should be "The BBQ Doctor."

The BBQ Doctor, Mark Wilcox is on his own again, with a small crew of "scrubs" and with the demand he am busier than ever, insuring your gas grill, patio heater, or fireplace will give you years of safe and reliable service. He just opened a new refurbishment facility in Hollister and is no longer in Morgan Hill or Gilroy, but still continue to service these areas.
